Medical School
Dr. Steven Lemberger, DPM, AACFAS, completed his medical degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. While in attendance there he received an award for the student who best advanced podiatry. He also served as class president.
Board Certification
Dr. Lemberger is Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery.
Residency
Dr. Lemberger did a three year surgical residency dedicated to treating all diseases of the foot and ankle. During his third year of residency he was named the Chief Resident for the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and all it's affiliated hospitals. During his first year of training he was named resident of the year.
Dr. Lemberger is a member of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), which is a professional society of 5,500 podiatric foot and ankle surgeons. Founded in 1942, ACFAS' goals are to promote the art and science of podiatric surgery, address the issues and concerns of the podiatric surgeon, and advance and improve standards of education and surgical skill.
ACFAS members reflect a high level of professional foot care, training and education. With a focus on preventive care and conservative treatment, members provide high quality, comprehensive care of the lower extremity.
Publications
Dr. Lemberger published an article on Turf Toe Injuries in the "Podiatric Medical Review."
He also published many abstracts on the topic of Rear Foot Surgery in "The Compendium of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery."
Teaching Experiences
He has served as an adjunctive instructor at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine teaching Introduction to Surgical Principles. At last year's New York Podiatric Medical Convention, he taught an interactive workshop on the newest foot and ankle bone fixation techniques.
Undergraduate Education
Dr. Lemberger is a graduate of Syracuse University.
Personal Notes
Dr. Lemberger and his wife Elisa Lemberger enjoy doing activities together, such as playing tennis, Rollerblading, walking through an art festival, or heading to New York to see a Broadway Show. In addition he enjoys playing golf, and softball. He is an avid Yankees, Syracuse Orangemen and Jets Fan.
Dr. Lemberger was featured in a recent issue of a local newspaper.
